Managing Approval Requests:
To approve a request in the Microsoft Teams Approvals app, open the Approvals app and select the request from the "Received" tab, or go to the approval card within a chat or channel message. In the approval dialogue box, select "Approve" or "Reject," add any necessary comments, and then select "Submit" to finalise your decision.
Step-by-step Guide:
1. Open the Approvals app: In Microsoft Teams, find and select the Approvals app in your app list.
2. Locate the request: Go to the Received tab to see all the approval requests you've been sent.
3. View the request details: Select the request from the list or the approval card in a chat or channel to open the approval form.
4. Make your decision: In the approval dialogue, select either the Approve or Reject button.
5. Add comments (optional): You can add comments to explain your decision if needed.
6. Submit your response: Click Submit to send your decision.
Alternative Method: From a Chat or Channel
- If you receive an approval request in a chat or channel, you can respond directly from the approval card displayed there.
- Select View details on the card to open the approval form and then proceed with approving or rejecting the request.
What happens next?
- Once you approve or reject the request, the state of the approval will update in the app and on the original card.
- The sender may receive a pop-up or email confirming your decision.
Creating an approval:
1. Open the Approvals app in Microsoft Teams.
2. Select New approval request.
3. Fill in the name of the request, who needs to approve it, decide approval order, any additional info, and add an attachment if needed.
4. Select Send. You’ll be able to view the request later by selecting Sent in the hub.
